Tellurium is a quasi metal element, the element symbol Te. In the periodic table of the element, it belongs to the VI A family. The atomic number is 52 and the atomic mass is 127.6. Te two allotropic forms, one is the six party system, the atoms are arranged in a spiral, with a silver white metallic luster; another is amorphous, black powder. The melting point of tellurium is 452 C, the boiling point is 1390 C, the sex is crisp, and the chemical properties are similar to the antimony. Tellurium is soluble in sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, potassium cyanide, potassium hydroxide; insoluble in water, carbon disulfide. Tellurium burns in the air with a blue flame, producing two tellurium oxide. After inhaling a very low concentration of tellurium, the human body produces an unstole garlic odor in exhaled and perspiration. Tellurium is one of the seven kinds of dilute metals. These metals are generally associated minerals, and are rare in independent deposits, and so are tellurium. The Dashui tellurite pyrite pyrite in Shimian County, Sichuan, China, is the only primary tellurium deposit in the world so far. In view of the scarce resource reserves and less tellurium production, the amount of tellurium supplied in the United States, Canada, Peru, China and Russia is relatively large. Because of the huge market demand of cadmium telluride thin film solar cells, cadmium telluride is currently the largest demand in tellurium products, and the prospect is the brightest. Tellurium has been applied in the fields of metallurgy, electronics and chemistry.
